Baileys is a perfect marriage of fresh Irish cream high quality, the finest spirits, Irish whiskey and a proprietary recipe of chocolate flavored.

Over 80% of the ingredients come from the island of Ireland. The fresh cream is supplied by two suppliers of dairy products. The mixture is a triple whiskey pot still, which occurs following a specification supplied patented The Old Midleton Distillery, Co Cork. The sugar extracted from sugar cane and beets. The clear style patented Baileys recipe is derived from a unique proprietary recipe with natural cocoa extracts, giving Baileys its chocolate character and essence.

OTHER INTERESTING FACTS:
Baileys was the first to combine cream liquor and alcohol in a manner sufficiently stable to allow commercialization. Whiskey and cream are homogenized to form an emulsion, with the aid of an emulsifier containing refined vegetable oil. This process prevents separation of the whiskey and cream during storage. The proportion of the rest of the ingredients used is not known but include chocolate, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon and sugar.
According to the manufacturer, no preservatives are used. The whiskey is enough to keep the cream.
The cream used in the drink comes from Avonmore Waterford Plc, a dairy cooperative located about 112 km from Dublin. They use more than 4 million liters of Irish cream Baileys for production, which represents 4.3% of total milk production in Ireland.
According to the manufacturer, the liquor has a shelf life of 24 months and should be stored between 0 and 25 degrees Celsius or 32 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
Irish Cream can be drunk with ice alone or as part of a cocktail. It is also common to take it with coffee instead of cream, with liquor served with Horlicks unheated.
